BMS & RMS Team Relay For Life – Biggest Year Yet!

Relay For LifeThanks to the many supporters of this year’s Relay For Life, a special event to raise dollars and awareness to fight cancer. Our BMS & RMS Team achieved a record total of donations earning us the Bronze Level Award! The children collected over $600 in Classroom Coins; families, friends and teachers sponsored Team Members with donations and came to walk with us overnight; teachers baked goods to sell at the Relay event. We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support. Thank you so very much! See you next year!

2010 Summer Voluntary PreKindergarten Program

VPK LogoWhat do summer, fun, and learning have in common? The answer is Voluntary PreKindergarten (VPK) and Summer Camp at The Brandon and Riverview Montessori Schools!

Due to overwhelming success and program demand, both BMS and RMS will offer another exciting Summer VPK for 2010. It is a tried-and-true curriculum combining with a touch of geography, a sprinkle of cultural studies, and a pinch of history all blended together with loads of fun. In the renowned Montessori approach, children not only "visit" various regions but they also experience worldly songs, indigenous crafts, and wonderful new tastes of exotic lands.

During BMS and RMS Voluntary PreKindergarten, children are immersed in an environment fosting their innate qualities of exploration and hands on learning. VPK, gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. By developing the skills children need to become strong readers and students at an early age, children are more likely to be successful in school. VPK classrooms offer high-quality programs that include high literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curricula, manageable class sizes, and qualified teachers.

Program Details Include:

  • The program is cost free to families regardless of their income level
  • Summer VPK offers 300 instructional hours taught by Florida Certified Teachers
  • The Summer VPK program is available from June 11 to August 6, 2010
  • Daily program runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (before and aftercare is available
